For Amazon sellers losing sales they can't explain

Trust is the single most important thing in business.

If you are not converting clicks into sales, this is the most likely reason why. This is where you create high-converting brands using the secrets and science of why customers buy.

I built the IDEA Brand Coach to answer the only question that matters: how do I build customer trust and increase my sales?

What your brand says

  • Specs, features, bullet points
  • Price and value comparisons
  • "Premium quality materials"
  • Star rating and review count
  • Speaking to the rational brain
TRUST GAP™

What their brain is checking

  • Does this brand understand me?
  • Have people like me been burned before?
  • Do I feel safe enough to commit?
  • Is this a brand I'd be proud to own?
  • Running on the emotional brain
The moment every Amazon seller knows

You have the data.
You don't have the diagnosis.

Your conversion rate says something is wrong. Your data can't tell you what. You've run a ChatGPT prompt and got a thousand words that could describe any brand in your category. Well organised. Completely generic.

You've paid an agency for a strategy document that described your market. You've read it. You've filed it. Your conversion rate hasn't moved.

Nobody has told you what any of it means about the one specific thing your specific customer's brain is checking before they decide not to buy. That's the question I built this to answer.

What comes back

One trigger. One score. One brief you can hand off today.

A score without a prescription is a number on a page. I keep the lever you need to pull in front of the number that justifies it.

The fix

Your Decision Trigger™

The single most powerful lever for your brand right now. One trigger, one direction. The brief translates it into the specific changes that pull it: main image, bullets, copy, A+ content. Everything serves the same trigger. No menu of fifty unrelated recommendations.

The score

Your Trust Gap™ Score

Out of 100, across four pillars: Insight, Distinctive, Empathetic, Authentic. It shows where the gap is widest, and therefore what to address first.

The proof

Your customers' own words

The verbatim review evidence the diagnosis is built on, particularly three-star reviews, where customers are most articulate about what almost stopped them buying.

The action

A design brief you can hand off

A specific image brief, copy brief, and CTA direction: something a designer or VA can act on without further interpretation.

Recognition

Your customers can see what you sell. They don't yet feel that you understand their specific situation as a pet owner.

3-star review evidence
"The product seems fine but I couldn't tell if it was made for dogs like mine. The packaging looks generic, could be any supplement brand. Ended up just going with something I'd seen recommended in my dog owner group."
First change

Redesign the front-facing label to signal which dog this is for: breed size, age or coat type, so the product reads as made for their specific dog. Pair with a lifestyle second image where permitted. Keep the main image compliant: product only, white background.

Example only. Your diagnostic is built from your own customers' language.

Why this answer is different

ChatGPT will diagnose your listing.
It can't tell you which diagnosis is right.

A custom GPT reads what your customers say and offers you possibilities. I read what their language reveals about the emotional state they're in when they decide to buy, and the framework identifies the one trigger firing against your brand. That's a judgement no prompt can replicate.

35 years

Agency founder, top-tier brands, including Amazon

I spent 35 years founding and running agencies whose clients included some of the world's top-tier brands, including a board-level role at a publicly listed UK PLC. For over a decade I've also built my own e-commerce brands as a seller competing on Amazon.

Across hundreds of brands and thousands of projects, one problem kept surfacing: good products failing to convert because the brand wasn't building enough trust at the moment of decision. I built the Trust Gap and the Decision Trigger to solve it.

Published

What the brain actually does at the moment of purchase

The framework is built on the published science of how buying decisions are made in the brain, below conscious awareness. Harvard researchers, neuroanatomists, behavioural psychologists. Not opinion. Not best practice. The mechanisms that govern trust, attention and choice at the moment someone is about to click Buy.

My book, What Captures The Heart Goes In The Cart, is where that science meets 35 years in the creative industries and 15 years in ecommerce.

My expertise, available on demand

I built the IDEA Brand Coach to do exactly one thing: make the commercial instincts and diagnostic frameworks I've applied across hundreds of brands available to every Amazon seller and DTC founder at the moment they need them, not when they can afford a consultant.

This is not a generic AI tool given a prompt. It is my methodology, encoded. The same questions I ask. The same framework I apply. The same prescription at the end. Without the waiting list.

The practice identified the patterns. The science explains why they're true.
That combination doesn't exist anywhere else in this market.

CONVERSION RATE

"Trevor delivered a strategic creative brief that gave our team immediate clarity and direction. Within weeks of implementing his recommendations, we doubled the conversion rate on a listing that had been significantly underperforming."

What sellers and founders say

★★★★★

"Before having Trevor work on my project, I spent several months watching him analyse and advise on at least 50 different products. What stood out wasn't just his insight: it was the direct impact his recommendations had on increasing the value of those businesses. You could literally see the lift."

Martyn WilliamsOwner, Kailash Herbals / Intuition Supplements
★★★★★

"Most branding consultants seem to be either graphic designers or marketers who understand branding at a surface level but not a deep fundamental level. Trevor helped us take our brand concept and, starting with the motivations of the target market we seek to serve, turned it into an IDEA Framework strategy we can build our business around long term."

Michael HancoxFounder, OmaOmaOma! Montessori Toys
Trusted inside Titan Network
★★★★★

"He's built some of the most impactful brand training inside Titan, including his IDEA Framework, which has completely shifted the way our members approach branding. In our weekly huddles and conversion work parties, he analyses listings in real time and helps members create brands that convert through trust and alignment."

The framework behind the score

Four checks. All must pass.

At the moment your customer is about to click Buy, their brain is running four checks simultaneously. All four must pass. If any one of them fails, the sale is lost, not because your product isn't good enough, but because your brand hasn't answered the right question.

I

Insight

A deep read of why your customers really buy: the emotional drivers under the demographics. Without it, your brand addresses the rational decision while the real one happens somewhere else entirely.

D

Distinctive

Standing for something, not just standing out. Features are irrelevant until identity is established, and identity is established by the brand, not the product.

E

Empathetic

Mirroring what the customer actually feels: safety, belonging, the sense that this brand understands their specific situation. No product feature reaches this state. Only the brand does. This is the pillar most commonly failing on Amazon listings.

A

Authentic

Values and promises kept in actions, not words. A brand that claims what it stands for without demonstrating it loses this buyer before the product is ever considered.

Six triggers tip a customer into buying. One of them leads for your brand.

The Decision Trigger™

A prescription, not a recommendation. At the moment of decision, one emotional trigger does more than any other to tip your specific customer towards buying. That is your Decision Trigger. There are six. For any one brand, one leads.

The diagnostic reads your customers' own language, particularly your three-star reviews, where buyers are most articulate about what almost stopped them. It names the trigger with the most tipping power for your brand, and prescribes the fix that pulls it.

You've already seen one at work

Recognition

The most powerful trigger on Amazon, and it pulls hardest where the Empathetic pillar is weakest. Customers tip towards brands that visibly understand their specific situation. In the NovaBark example above, the widest pillar gap was Empathetic (41), so Recognition has the most tipping power: make the customer feel 'this was made for my dog', and the sale follows.

The other five are what the diagnostic tests for.

Not a one-time audit

A continuous conversion intelligence system.

Markets change, competitors move, customer language evolves. Finding the gap once is the start. Defending against it is the product.

Questions, answered honestly

Is it free?

The diagnostic is free. No account, no email, no payment required. You run the six questions and get your full result immediately. When I add saved reports and re-measurement, those will be paid features. The diagnostic that tells you what to fix first is always free.

What do I actually get back?

A Trust Gap Score out of 100 across four pillars, your primary Decision Trigger, the verbatim review evidence behind it, and a design brief (image, copy, CTA) you can hand off today.

Which brands is this designed for?

Built primarily for Amazon sellers and DTC founders with an existing product listing and at least some customer reviews. The diagnostic draws on your review language to identify the trigger, so the more reviews you have, the more precise the result. It works for any physical product category. It is not designed for B2B or SaaS.

How is this different from asking ChatGPT?

ChatGPT reads what customers say. I read what their language reveals about the emotional state they're in when they buy, through a framework (the Trust Gap, the Decision Trigger, the four buyer states) that no general AI has, regardless of how you prompt it.

Do I need an account to try it?

No. The free diagnostic starts without one. You only sign in when you want to save and revisit your results.

What if my product has very few reviews?Roadmap

With under around 50 reviews the classification is less certain. A competitor-corpus supplement, reading the category's review language alongside yours, is on the roadmap to make new brands first-class.

Will it re-measure after I ship the fix?Roadmap

The Brand Defence loop, re-measure and defend, is what I'm building towards. Today the coach takes you through Analyse, Diagnose, Fix.

Is this a brand strategy tool?

No, it's more than that: it delivers both the strategy and the implementation. The diagnostic finds the trigger that tips your customer towards buying. The brief turns that trigger into the specific changes that pull it: main image, bullets, copy, A+ content. The thinking and the doing in one pass, ready to hand to a designer or VA the same day.
